thankful thursday

This Thursday I am thankful for:

I kid you not... she climbed in when I grabbed my camera to take a picture of the crate.

the crate:  when we got Zoe 3.5 years ago, she was a very shy, timid cat.  Only wanted to be loved on when she wanted to be loved on, but otherwise pretty sweet.  And smart.  Like taught US how to play catch with her.  A cat.  Catch.  Ridiculous.  But then she became outgoing.  (Really we think she is just working for Remi.)  And she stopped letting me sleep at night.  For years people.  She learned how to turn the radio on.  As loud as possible.  She bit holes through the bottom of my lamp shade.  She pawed at my face.  She dive bombed off of dressers onto me.  Only to me.  So about a month ago we bought the crate.  And she does pretty good with it.  I get to sleep pretty much all night.  She has started learning to go in by herself with a little prompting from us.  Peace.

going home:  its been a while since I got to go home to see my parents.  And since we just saw Kyle's family a couple weeks ago, I decided we would use Kyle's in between rotations to drive home and see my family this weekend....and the new puppy.  Then for Easter we will spend the whole weekend at his family's.  Its just so much more enjoyable when we aren't hopping between the two.  And the weather is supposed to be gorgeous.  Relaxation, here I come.

4/8 days:   the countdown is getting serious.  The "did we/didn't we" moment is 4 days away.  The "where" celebration/begin house hunting day is now only 8 days away.  Single digits.  Freaking. Out.  But I am thankful that this time of waiting around is coming to an end.  Just hurry up already!  (notice I have added a countdown in the upper right hand corner of the page)

surprise winnings:  while I was writing this last night, I got a message on Instagram that I was one of the winners in yesterday's #dogdaywednesday photo contest.  How cool!!!  I get a set of photos from snapstagram.  Perfect timing too, just the pick-me-up I needed to get out of the slump I was in thinking about next week.
